Springfield Cardinals Lose Late

July 15, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Springfield Cardinals fell on the road to Corpus Christi 3-2 on Thursday night when Josh Anderson drove the game-winner with a bases loaded single off Springfield reliever Anthony Rawson.

Rawson allowed a lead-off single to Charlton Jimerson, who made it to second base on a passed ball by Robinson Cancel on the next at-bat. Rawson then intentionally walked Humberto Quintero. Eric Riggs got Jimerson over to third base with a sacrifice bunt and Rawson intentionally walked John Fagan in hopes of a force.

Papo Bolivar and Juan Diaz drove in the only runs for Springfield. Rawson took the loss and fell to 4-3.
