Two of Missouri’s big-time NASCAR drivers hang onto their top-ten positions in the points race although they finish the top ten this weekend at Joliet, Illinois. Rusty Wallace of St. Louis finished 12th and Jamie McMurray of Joplin crossed the finish line at 22nd. But in the standings based on points, Wallace is fourth and McMurray holds eighth. Other Missouri drivers trailed. Mike Wallace placed 25th, Ken Schrader of Fenton finished 26th and Columbia’s Carl Edwards rolled in at 39th when a blown tire caused him to wreck his car.
