The list of 38 road and bridge projects that the Missouri Department of Transportation plans to complete over the next few years has been approved by the highway commission. The approval brings to a close a selection process that started shortly after voters approved Amendment Three in November of last year. MODOT’s Kevin Keith says the road and bridge projects will be built in two phases; first, the repaving of thousands of miles, and second, the actual construction of corridors linking major areas of the state. He admits some corridors won’t be completed, but the department will do what it can. Keith says the 38 Amendment Three projects were part of a larger Statewide Transportation Improvement Plan totalling seven-point-three billion dollars, the largest STIP ever approved.
