Blunt Signs Bills Aimed at Protecting Kids

Governor Matt Blunt has signed legislation to designed to protect Missouri’s children. One of the two bills signed bans trace amounts of mercury in vaccines given to knowingly pregnant women as well as children under the age of three. It also gives the State Health Department discretion to determine disorders for which the newborn screening program should test. The other bill allows counties to post convicted sex offenders’ pictures on the counties’ web sites, in addition to the names and addresses of the offenders.
