Missouri Political Leaders Condemn London Terrorist Attacks

July 7, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Matt Blunt has offered his condolences to the British people following today’s terrorist attack on London’s public transportation system. And, Blunt says authorities here in Missouri are already taking steps to ensure our security measures are in place. Blunt says Missouri’s Public Safety officials are in contact with the national Homeland Security Department in efforts to head off any similar attack here. While this is going on, he calls on Missourians to remain vigilant. Meanwhile, the Governor’s father, Missouri’s top man in the U.S. Congress is speaking out on the terrorist attacks. Southwest Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt, the House Majority Whip, says this is a cowardly act. He adds the only way to stop terrorists is to stay on the offensive. Missouri’s two United States Senators, Kit Bond and Jim Talent, have both condemned the attacks, as well.
