The State Auditor takes aim at the State Revenue Department, but that agency’s director says Claire McCaskill is way off target. State Auditor Claire McCaskill says she is running into roadblocks when it comes to getting preliminary information from the revenue department regarding the transfer of state-run license offices to privately-run. McCaskill says she doesn’t understand why the Department would not cooperate with her to figure out if an audit is necessary. State Revenue Director Trish Vincent says under the law, she cannot give McCaskill information unless an actual audit is being done. Vincent believes McCaskill might be on a bit of fishing expedition. McCaskill says she’s only asking for information any citizen would be able to get under the Sunshine Laws. Vincent says she offered to treat McCaskill’s questions as Sunshine requests, but McCaskill refused.
