The Southwest Missouri St. (soon-to-be Missouri. St.) basketball team has received its first verbal commitment for the 2006-2007 season. Ryan Jehle, who will be a senior at Shawnee Mission (Kansas) South High School has given head coach Barry Hinson a yes after visiting the campus last week.
Jehle is 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds and averaged 19 points and 11 rebounds as a junior. He was named first-team all-state in Kansas’ largest class according to the Kansas Coaches Association. He was also being recruited by Creighton and Illinois St., which are also in the Missouri Valley Conference. Davidson and Columbia were also interested.
