Zack Greinke became the Major Leauge’s second ten-game loser this season, as the Angels topped the Royals 5-0 on Sunday at Kauffman Stadium. Ryan Franklin of the Mariners is the only other starting pitcher in double-digits. T

The Royals trailed early and a heavy rain delayed the game for an hour and 46 minutes before it was called with one out in the top of the sixth. Los Angeles took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when designated hitter Jeff DaVanon scored on a double play. Shortstop Maicer Izturis drove in left fielder Garret Anderson with a double and Bengie Molina singled in Izturis with a single in the third to make it 3-0.

Anderson and DaVanon drove in the final two runs of the game with doubles in the fifth inning. Greinke allowed 12 hits and a walk over five innings and was charged with all five runs.

The Royals have lost their last three games and have dropped nine straight to the Angels. Their record of 26-54 is the worst mark in franchise history after 80 games.

Abraham Nunez proved to be the Cardinals’ hero on Sunday night with an RBI single in the ninth to give St. Louis a 5-4 win over the Rockies at Busch Stadium. Nunez came to the plate 0-for-4 before driving in the game winning run, which gave the Cardinals a split with Colorado in the four-game series.
