First Airmail Flight

July 1, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

From Lindbergh and before to the space program and beyond, the history of aviation in Missouri is highlighted by prominent individuals and events. A year before the Pony Express started its short but historic run.
There are those who claim the first airmail flight was made in Paris in 1870 when a balloon was sent up in an effort to get dispatches across enemy lines – but that’s not true.
