Royals’ Losing Streak Moves To Seven Games

June 28, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Royals’ losing streak has grown to seven games after a 3-1 loss to the Twins in Minnesota. Twins’ starter Joe Mays pitched eight innings and held Kansas City to one run off six hits and no walks. David DeJesus hit a homer in the eighth to get the Royals on the board, but that was the only damage Mays encountered. Zack Greinke pitched six and allowed two runs off four hits for his ninth loss.

The Twins took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when Jacque Jones and Lew Ford drove in runs with a single and sacrifice fly. Minnesota’s final run of the game came off reliever Jimmy Gobble, who allowed an infield single to Glenn Williams to score Justin Morneau.
