The Springfield Cardinals never led in a 7-5 loss to San Antonio at Hammons Field Sunday. Gary Harris proved to be the Cardinals Achilles heel, as the Missions center fielder drove in four runs by going 3-for-5. His two-run single started a three-run rally in the first inning. San Antonio led 6-0 by the third inning.

The Cardinals scored single runs in the first, second, fourth, fifth and sixth innings, but couldn’t overcome the deficit. They had 11 hits, while the Missions pounded out 17 on the day.

All-Star pitcher Randy Leek dropped to 7-4 on the season by allowing six runs off 13 hits. He walked two and struck out one.
