A jury in Florida says Learjet is not responsible for the death of Springfield pro golfer Payne Stewart. Stewart was killed in 1999 when the plane in which he was a passenger apparently lost oxygen pressure at high altitutde and crashed several hours and several hundred miles away. Stewart’s widow and their two children had sued Learjet for $200-Milion. Learjet had argued the plane lost pressure because of poor maintenance. The owners of the plane have since goe out of business.
