The State’s largest electric utility has made available on the Internet a map that shows where power outages are occuring. AmerenUE has posted the information on its website. The company’s Richard Mark says it is intended to inform the public when there are large-scale power hits. Mark does say that in the future, Ameren plans to work in information such as when the electricity should be coming back on. He says the inspiration for the web site comes from the response by utilities in Florida in the wake of the hurricanes last year.
