Former MU Golfer Wins On Nationwide Tour

June 6, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Columbia Hickman High School and MU graduate Jason Schultz grabbed his first victory on the Nationwide Tour by winning the Chattanooga Classic in a four-way playoff.

Schultz, Jerry Smith, Scott Weatherly and Joe Daley all finished at 22-under par after 72 holes. Only Schultz and Daley remained after birdying the first playoff hole. Five holes later Schultz hit a 20-foot putt for a birdie, while Daley missed a 10-foot putt, which would have forced a seventh playoff hole.

For his efforts, Schultz earned $81,000 and moved from 26th place to 6th place on the Nationwide Tour money list. The top 20 at the end of season get automatic exemptions to the PGA in the next year.
