Cost overruns for the MetroLink light rail in St. Louis could become costly for the taxpayers there. Metro has announced that extended service from Forest Park to Clayton, then on to Shrewsbury will cost between $646-Million and $676-Million dollars – considerably more than the $550-Million expected. A clause in the contract states that the contractor’s liability will not exceed $8-Million. Metro officials still insist they will recover more than $8-Million.
