President Bush visits Missouri today, campaigning at a fundraising dinner in St. Louis for Senator Jim Talent’s re-election bid. Senator Talent has, so far, hesitated to announce his intentions for 2006. But, John Hancock with the Missouri Republican Party says Thursday evening’s fundraising event in St. Louis serves as the unofficial kick-off of the Talent re-election effort. Hancock says Missouri is always pleased to welcome President Bush to the Show-Me State. There is still no Democratic frontrunner for next year’s election. But State Senator Chuck Graham of Columbia has expressed interest in running and State Auditor Claire McCaskill has been approached by Democratic Party officials.
