Cancel’s Ninth Inning RBI Wins It For Springfield

June 1, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Springfield Cardinals notched another come-from-behind win over the Midland RockHounds on Tuesday night with a 3-2 win at Hammons Field in Springfield.

Robinson Cancel proved to be the hero on Tuesday night, when he laced a one-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to break a 2-2 tie and to end the game.

One inning earlier, Papo Bolivar scored on an Aaron Herr single to tie the game at 2-2. Bolivar had three hits on the night and Herr extended his hitting streak to 12 games.

Reliever Evan Rust got the win in relief, setting the RockHounds down in order in the ninth and improved to 2-1.
