Both the human and the mechanical aspects of school bus safety will be discussed by a special task force formed after three school bus accidents earlier this month. Governor Matt Blunt formed the task force and made State Public Safety Director Mark James the Chairman. James says the task force also will consider the different challenges facing school bus drivers in both rural and urban Missouri. The accidents occurred in Liberty, Hannibal and St. Louis. The accident in Liberty killed drivers in two cars and injured 23 children. The task force hopes to prepare a report by August.
