The Springfield Cardinals may be in last place in the East Division of the Texas League, but they continue to dominate the team in first place in the West Division. The Cardinals topped the Midland RockHounds for the third time in four tries with a 4-3 win on Monday night.

Papo Bolivar’s RBI single broke a 3-3 tie in the eighth inning and proved to be the game-winning hit for the Cardinals, which have improved to 24-27 on the season.

Juan Diaz and Aaron Herr both hit home runs in the game. Herr’s strike in the seventh inning tied the game at 3-3.

Reliever Anthony Rawson pitched 1 1/3 inning to get his second win of the season. Rawson shut down the RockHounds in the ninth inning by striking out the side.

It was the contest of the Cardinals’ 11-game home stand.
