Johnson Wins Again In Charlotte, Edwards Finishes 3rd

May 30, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

While Jimmie Johnson made a late charge to win his third straight Coca Cola 600, the state of Missouri certainly made a good showing on Sunday night. Columbia native Carl Edwards, who is in his first full season on the Nextel Cup Series, was able to finish in third place. His finish moved him up five spots in the standings from 13th to eighth.

Fenton, Missouri native Ken Schrader finished in ninth place in Charlotte and moved up from 28th to 26th in the standings.

Rusty Wallace, who is originally from St. Louis, finished in tenth place and moved up one spot to 12th on the points’ list. His brother Mike Wallace was 16th.

Jamie McMurray, a Joplin native, finished 21st and didn’t see his status change in the standings—he’s still 9th.
