Highway Patrol Urges Caution as Holiday Weekend Begins

May 26, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Memorial Day holiday travel weekend is upon us and the Missouri State Highway Patrol is reminding drivers to be careful out on the roads. The Patrol’s Captain Chris Ricks says the first long weekend of the Summer means a lot of Missourians who have been itching to get outside will be heading to places far and near. And, he says troopers will be out in force to do what they can to keep the roads safe. Fifteen people lost their lives and more than 600 people were injured in crashes on Missouri roads during last year’s Memorial Day weekend.
