The Justice Department and the Federal Trade Commission says a real estate licensing bill passed by the Legislature this year is anti-competitive and bad for consumers. The two agencies have sent a joint letter to Governor Matt Blunt suggesting he veto the bill because it could make it harder for people selling homes to save money by hiring brokers to do only certain things. The letter says the bill could force home sellers to pay a lot more money to real estate brokers.
