Individuals and groups are being organized in St. Louis to fight human trafficking. And the head of the federal office charged with stopping modern slavery will be there Tuesday to start Missouri’s efforts. Director Steve Wayne with the Human Trafficking Program of the Department of Health and Human services says St. Loius has been picked for the program for a reason. He says people are being brought to America for forced labor or commercial sex from Southeast Asia, Central America, and Eastern Europe – the fastest-growing area supplying this century’s slaves.
