The Springfield Cardinals surrendered an a 6-2 lead late in last night’s game with Wichita and eventually lost 10-6 in 12 innings. Relievers Anthony Ferrari and Cory Doyne allowed three runs in the eighth inning and Doyne allowed a solo home run to Wichita’s Cody Aldridge to make it 6-6.

In the 12th Josh Axelson allowed four runs, as Wichita took the lead and held on for the win. Only one of those four runs were earned in the 12th inning and just four of Wichita’s ten total runs were earned, as Axelson took the loss.
