Teenagers and Parents Offered Summer Job Advice

May 12, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

It’s the time of year when teenagers head out in search of Summer jobs. And, the State Labor Department wants to make sure young people who are trying to make some money are doing so in jobs that pass safety standards. The Department’s Colleen White says teenagers and their parents should be aware of certain work-related rules and requirements. White says that while there are few work-related restrictions on those 16-years of age and older, the same cannot be said for 14-and-15-year-olds in the workplace. They are not allowed to work in certain jobs that involve dangerous materials or dangerous chemicals.
