The good news for the Springfield Cardinals is that they left San Antonio with their first winning road trip in franchise history. The bad news is they left with a loss. The Cardinals out-hit the San Antonio Missions, but still lost 4-1 on Wednesday.

Springfield had 10 hits to San Antonio’s seven and had runners on base in every inning but the second. Their only run came in the seventh inning when Tyler Minges scored on a fielders choice. Starting pitcher Justin Pals dropped to 1-4 on the season, by allowing all four runs over 5 2/3 innings.

The Cardinals finished the road trip with a mark of 4-3 and return home to face Wichita at Hammons Field.
