One of the Chicago area’s top high school hoops prospects is coming to Missouri. DeAndre Thomas signed a letter of intent yesterday to play basketball at MU. The six-foot-eight, 270-pound center/power forward is expected to help fill the void left by Linas Kleiza, who left Mizzou to enter the NBA draft. Thomas was named the Illinois player of the year by the Chicago Sun-Times. He averaged 21 points and 12 rebounds as a senior at Chicago’s Westinghouse High School. Thomas picked Missouri over Kansas and Illinois.
