Springfield Cardinals Drops 2-1 Decision To Corpus Christi

May 6, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Springfield Cardinals stranded seven base runners in a 2-1 loss to Corpus Christi Thursday night. Cardinals’ starter Oscar Alvarez served up a two run homer to Charlton Jimerson in the fourth inning and that was all Corpus Christi needed to knock off Springfield.

The Cardinals had just five hits on the night and left the bases loaded in the fourth inning. IN the sixth inning Springfield scored its only run of the game when Travis Hanson drove in to score Tyler Minges.

Alvarez was charged with the loss, as the Cardinals fell to 11-16, seven games out of first place.
