Missouri Becoming Part of New AMBER Alert Network

May 6, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Matt Blunt has announced Missouri will join the AMBER Alert Web Portal, a nationally connected communication system to help find missing children. This system instantly issues alerts to broadcasters and local government websites for geographical areas in which the children have been reported missing. This new function of the AMBER alert system allows police to quickly activate and update alerts. It also allows the public to subscribe to alerts and updates through e-mail, pagers, or cell phones. Missouri will be one of about a dozen states taking part in this new effort to help locate missing kids.
