Senate Committee Approves Blunt Nominee to Highway Commission

May 4, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

One of Governor Blunt’s appointments which prompted an ethics complaint by the State Democratic Party has cleared a Senate committee. Jefferson City car dealer Mike Kehoe’s nomination to the State Highway Commission has been sent to the full Senate for its approval. Concerns had been raised over Kehoe’s allowing the Blunt for Governor Campaign the use of a bus. Democrats charge it was a campaign contribution, while Kehoe and Republicans say the bus was leased to the campaign. Only one member of the panel voted against Kehoe’s appointment – Senator Democratic Leader Maida Coleman of St. Louis.
