Royals Lose Late Lead And Game To ChiSox

May 4, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Royals’ collapses in the late innings have cost them on a number of occasions in 2005. Of Kansas City’s 19 losses this season, eight of them have occurred when they were either tied or led in the seventh inning or beyond.

If a local restaurant in Springfield gives a free dinner to the most valuable player of every Springfield Cardinal home win, then Travis Hanson should get steak for his performance on Tuesday. The Cardinals’ third baseman hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to tie the game at 4-4. Then in the 11th, his RBI single drove in the game-winner to give Springfield a 5-4 win over the San Antonio Missions.

Reliever Josh Kinney pitched two innings and didn’t give up a run to improve his record to 3-1 on the season.
