Former Missouri basketball player Jeffrey Ferguson was arrested this past weekend on a felony weapons charge. Police were called to a Columbia apartment complex after someone complained that Ferguson was drunk and waving a gun in the parking lot of the complex. When police arrived and asked Ferguson for the gun, he refused. Police obtained a search warrant and found BB gun cartridges in Ferguson’s apartment.

He remained in jail until he was bailed out yesterday afternoon.

On April 22, Ferguson announced that he was leaving MU to transfer or possibly play professionally. In three seasons at Missouri, he averaged 2.8 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. He was stuck in his native Canada with visa problems and missed the 2003-2004 season. After red-shirting, he hurt his knee early in the 2004-2005 campaign and missed most of his junior season.
