They made a lot of noise, then faded quietly away as a group of disabled Missourians positioned themselves in front of the main entrance of the House Chamber Wednesday afternoon to protest the Medicaid cuts Governor Blunt has signed into law. John Loyd led about a dozen disabled people who blocked the entrance to the chamber with their wheelchairs. Loyd says they wanted to send a message to Governor Matt Blunt. Protestors chanted “We want Blunt!” and “Hell no, 539”, a reference to the Medicaid bill number, for a couple of hours. Little by little, the protestors left the House entrance, then left the Capitol, never meeting with Governor Blunt.
