Weather Blamed For Plane Crash

April 21, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Heavy rain is blamed for a fatal plane crash near St. Louis late Wednesday afternoon. Festus Police Chief Tim Lewis says the Cessna 150 went down shortly after taking off from the Festus Municipal Airport. The plane took off as a storm came in. The pilot circled the airport once in an attempt to land, but the plane cartwheeled across the runway and crashed. Its owner – Rodney Forbes of Mexico, Missouri – died in the crash. Paul Varnell of Texas was injured.
