The two vacancies in the State Senate have now been filled with the swearing in of two Senators who won special elections on April 5th. First to be sworn in and to acknowledge friends and family members in attendance: Democrat Frank Barnitz of Lake Spring, who takes a seat previously held by a Republican. Then, Republican Bill Alter, from High Ridge, who won a seat that had been held by a Democrat. He greetes his friends and family. All 34 Senate seats are now filled – 23 Republicans, 11 Democrats.
