Gordon Takes Martinsville, Rusty Wallace Finishes 5th

April 11, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Jeff Gordon earned his sixth career victory at Martinsville, taking the checkered flag on Sunday. Kasey Kahne, Mark Martin, Ryan Newman and St. Louis native Rusty Wallace rounded out the top five.

Wallace’s brother Mike was 23rd, while Fenton native Ken Schrader was 24th and Joplin’s Jamie McMurray finished 25th on Sunday. Carl Edwards of Columbia was 38th.

Wallace’s fifth-place finish moved him up two spots to seventh in the point standings, while Edwards quick exit moved him from fourth to 11th. McMurray remained steady at 15th.
