California Paper Retracts Statement, Bo Jackson Will Still Sue

April 11, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, of Ontario, California, has apologized to Bo Jackson and has retracted a quote from a dietary expert who claims the former Kansas City Royal used steroids.

In a recent article, dietary expert Ellen Coleman was quoted as saying that Jackson’s hip problems were increased by “anabolic abuse”. On its website, the paper apologized.

“We retract the quote and the further statement that the speaker personally witnessed this damage to his life. We apologize to Mr. Jackson, without reservation.”

Jackson countered the statements by filing a defamation lawsuit against the paper.
