SLU Rallies For Five Runs In 9th To Beat SMS

April 7, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Saint Louis University baseball team earned just its fifth win of the season with a 6-5 victory over SMS and the Billikens, like SEMO, used late-game dramatics to grab the win.

Trailing 5-1, going into the bottom of the ninth, SLU grinded out five hits and five runs to grab the improbable win. Scott Peden tied the game with a two-run homer, then won the game with Bill Musselman’s sacrifice fly to score Johnny Sweeney. The Billikens scored all five runs with no outs.

SLU improved to 5-21, while SMS fell to 11-15.
