The Royals and Tigers were off Tuesday, but will go back at it on Wednesday afternoon. Kansas city is looking for revenge after a tough 11-2 loss in the season opener Monday. In that game Dmitri Young blew up the Royals’ pitching staff by blasting three home runs.

Runelvys Hernandez returns to action today after missing the last month and a half of the 2003 season and the entire 2004 season with an elbow injury and subsequent surgery. Hernandez was 7-5 in his first full season in the majors, before he got hurt. This spring he allowed 23 hits and 12 earned runs in 17 and a third innings of work.

He’ll be opposed by Detroit’s Mike Maroth. First pitch is at 1:05 in Detroit.
