The Missouri Tiger baseball team just keeps moving up the national rankings. The Tigers were ranked as high as 19th this week, in the Collegiate Baseball Poll. They were 20th in the National Baseball Writers Poll and 23rd in the Baseball America Poll. The Tigers will one poll. They’ll travel to Southeast Missouri State Wednesday for a 6PM game and host Texas A & M this weekend. The Tigers are 23-5 and tied with Nebraska for the Big 12 league at 5-1 in conference play.
Mizzou sophomore pitcher Max Scherzer has been named the Big 12 Conference’s player of the week and he was also tabbed as the national pitcher of the week by the Nation Baseball Writers Association. He and John Cole combined for a no-hitter against Texas Tech last Friday. Scherzer is 6-1 with a 1.02 ERA.
