Dowtown traffic in St. Louis is normally not a whole lot of fun, no matter when you’re stuck in it, but this weekend it’s even less fun. Blocks of streets have been shut down and up to 100,000 people have made their way to the area for the Final Four. That’s doubled travel time for motorists trying to sift about the madness.

Chris Riley, a driver for Vandalia Bus Lines called downtown “a madhouse.” Riley is operating a shuttle between the Embassy Suites on Laclede’s Landing to the dome. He says the drive normally takes about ten minutes, but will take at least 20 minutes this weekend. The traffic, according to Riley is worse than Rams games and Cardinal playoff games.

“I’ve never seen anything like this. No comparison. No comparison, what so ever.” With a giggle, Riley suggested that passengers, “Bring a book.”
