Finding a fix for the school funding formula is one of the top issues facing state lawmakers as they return to Jefferson City, this week, for the final seven weeks of the legislative session. Tom Davis, President of the State Board of Education, says a fix – even a temporary one – is within reach. But, he says it cannot be achieved without more money to fund education equitably and adequately. A lawsuit over the funding formula is in the courts. Davis believes the judge and the plaintiffs – scores of school boards – are waiting to see what the Legislature does before taking further action.
