SLU And WHO Enter Into Research Partnership

March 24, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

A new partnership between Saint Louis University and the World Health Organization will target chronic disease. The World Health Organization has designated the Prevention Research Center at Saint Louis University School of Public Health as a collaborative partner on programs to prevent and control certain diseases. The Center’s Director, Doctor Ross Brownson, says the research will target non-contageous diseases such as cancer, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. Doctor Brownson says this partnership will allow Saint Louis University researchers to share knowledge with scientists throughout the world. Doctor Brownson says the WHO selected the Prevention Research Center because of its science-based research on chronic health issues.
