Royals Tie Mariners In Hit-Fest, Top Padres In Night Cap

March 24, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

The Royals and Mariners didn’t impress folks with pitching on Wednesday. The two teams combined for 41 hits and 30 runs in a 15-15 tie. Abraham Nunez shined for the Royals, going 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and four RBI’s. The Royals held a 15-7 lead, before Seattle put together two four-run rallies in the eighth and ninth innings.

That night, the Royals hosted the Padres and won that game 9-7. Ruben Gotay’s three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth won it for Kansas City, which improved to 8-11 this spring.
