State Agencies Gearing Up For Spring Clean-Up

March 22, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

A massive, week-long, statewide cleanup effort was so successful last year that organizers have decided to expand it to a full month this year. Volunteers picked up 13,500 bags of trash and truckloads of tires and other items too big to bag up a year ago, and organizers have expanded the effort to include the entire month of April this year. Melissa Black, with the State Transportation Department – a co-sponsor of the “No MOre Trash” cleanup efforts with the State Conservation Department. She says people’s efforts will be recognized. Black says groups or individuals participating will be able to download information and do-it-yourself report cards on their progress from the website www.nomoretrash.org.
