Hagin Says Accusation Misconstrued, Helton May Sue

March 22, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Could Cardinals’ broadcaster Wayne Hagin be in some legal hot water? Hagin’s comments to a St. Louis radio station this weekend have angered Rockies’ first baseman Todd Helton. In an interview on KSLG radio in St. Louis Saturday, Hagin, who used to broadcast games for the Rockies, said that former Rockies manager Don Baylor told him in the late 90’s that Helton needed to get off “the juice”.

On Monday, Helton told ESPN Radio that he might sue Hagin. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch contacted Hagin yesterday and he said that when he said “juice” he was referring to supplements, not steroids.
