Lutheran North Captures Class 3 Boys Basketball Title

The Lutheran North Crusaders from St. Louis County win the 2005 Class 3 Boys Basketball Championship, defeating the Charleston Blue Jays 72-63 at the Mizzou Arena. LaRico Martin led the way for the Crusaders, scoring 28 points. The 5’7″ guard hit seven field goals, including three 3-pointers, and was 11 of 12 from the free throw line. Forward Rolandis Woodward added 16 points for the victorious Crusaders. Guard Jeff Leslie added 11 while guard Mike Woods scored 10. The top scorer for the Blue Jays was forward Ashton Farmer, who scored 17 points. Guard Shawn Sherrell scored 15. Center Jamarcus Williams had 13 points. This is Lutheran North’s second championship. The Crusaders captured their first title in 2002. Charleston entered the game having won nine championships. Both teams finish their seasons with identical 22-10 records.
