Peterson Gets Extension From Chiefs

March 18, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Chiefs President and General Manager Carl Peterson isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. Peterson and the Chiefs have agreed to a four-year contract extension, which will keep him on board through 2009. Peterson entered 2005 in the final year of a contract. He has been with the Chiefs for 16 years.

Peterson’s signing makes Dick Vermeil’s future more of a question mark. Vermeil has waffled as to whether or not he’ll continue coaching for a couple of years, now. He’s in the final year of his contract, but told the Kansas City Star that he may stay longer with Peterson in place. He said he’d only stay if Peterson, who has been his friend for decades, is in charge.
