Hall Appeals To Federal Courts To Spare His Life

March 15, 2005 By admin Leave a Comment

Now, it will be up to the federal courts as to whether Stanley Hall dies as planned a minute after midnight. Hall’s attempt to halt his execution at the Potosi prison was rejected by the State Supreme Court. Hall’s lawyer had asked the State Supreme Court to reduce Hall’s sentence to life in prison, claiming Hall is mentally retarded. The Court rejected the request without comment. Hall was sentenced to die for the death of Barbara Jo Wood in January of 1994. Hall and another man stole Wood’s car to use it in a drive-by shooting. Hall shot and wounded Wood when she refused to get out of the car. He then threw her off the McKinley Bridge in St. Louis.
