There is good news on Missouri’s employment front. The state’s preliminary seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February decreased by three-tenths of a point to 5.7 percent and non-farm payroll employment grew by more that 10,000 jobs. February’s decrease in the jobless figure brought Missouri’s unemployment rate to the same level as December. Bad weather and a temporary layoff in the automobile industry brought about a temporary increase in unemployment in January.
